Advent World (advent-world.com) is operated by Auckland Finest, 139 Quay Street, Auckland 1010, New Zealand ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and what choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, for customers in the United States, applicable US state privacy laws.

1. Information we collect

  • Contact and order details: name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address.
  • Order information: products you buy, order history, returns and exchanges.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify and our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal). We never see or store your full card details.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email or through our contact form.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser, device type and how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

2. How we use your information

  • To process and deliver your order, including sending order confirmations and tracking information.
  • To handle returns, refunds and customer service questions.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our website and checkout secure.
  • To improve our website and product range.
  • To send marketing emails, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.

3. Who we share it with

We only share personal information where needed to run our store:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and checkout.
  • Payment providers, to process your payment.
  • Suppliers, fulfilment partners and couriers, to pack and deliver your order. They receive only the details needed for delivery.
  • Analytics and advertising partners (for example Google and Meta), if you allow cookies for these purposes.
  • Authorities, where we are required to by law.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some sharing for targeted advertising may count as "selling" or "sharing" under certain US state laws; you can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page. We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal.

4. International transfers

Our service providers may store or process your information outside New Zealand or the United States. We use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how our website is used and, with your permission, show relevant ads. You can manage cookies in your browser settings and through our cookie banner where shown.

6. How long we keep it

We keep order information for as long as needed for delivery, returns, customer service and our legal and tax obligations (in New Zealand, generally 7 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Security

Our checkout is encrypted (SSL) and runs on Shopify's secure platform. Access to personal information is limited to people who need it to help you.

8. Your rights

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you and to have it corrected. Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states), you may also have the right to delete your information, to receive a copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Email info@advent-world.com and we will reply within 20 working days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are not happy with how we handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand (privacy.org.nz) or the privacy regulator where you live.

9. Children

Our website is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Parents who believe their child has given us information can contact us to have it removed.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
